Mejillones Bay

Mejillones Bay

Isla Navarino, Puerto Williams

Traveling along the road, about 28 kms from Puerto Williams to Puerto Navarino, you will be able to discover what this location has to offer, where the last Yaghan people of the region lived. A cemetery built of natural wood, full of small crosses like stakes, overlooks the channel and Argentinean mountain ranges. Humid forests by the roadside turn white during the winter months, blending with the thick fog on the horizon. One hears the constant sound of the river that runs down small waterfalls and flows into Mejillones Bay.
