An hour’s sailing from the end of Route 9 in Punta Arenas will lead you to different geographical features such as fjords, bays and rivers, and amidst the constant presence of the Strait of Magellan, a whale could make this crossing a unique spectacle of marine beauty. To reach the cross of the seas at Cape Froward, hike along a trail of about 350 meters in altitude and rich in biodiversity, with peat bogs, damp forests and views of the Strait. Once at the top, you can see the southernmost geographical landmark of the continent.

The route runs over beach terrain and trails cross native forests and peat bogs, with bays, rivers and estuaries, capes and peninsulas being geographical elements that enhance the journey, along with the permanent presence of the Strait of Magellan and continental and insular mountain ranges. It is a trekking trail of great beauty, but of high complexity, for trekking lovers who have the experience, physical condition and necessary equipment to successfully tackle this journey through the southernmost point of the American continent.
